Already operating warehouses in Santos, Brazil’s busiest port, Bandeirantes Logística Integrada is joining a new business: supply boats for the oil and gas industry. The company wants to turn the Santos facilities into a starting point in supporting the offshore market and is competing in four bids from privately-owned and government companies. “We don’t want to join the spot market, but the contract one,” says commercial director Marcel Vilchez. The diversification investments are calculated at a minimum R$10 million. Family controlled, Bandeirantes had sales of R$197 million in 2013 and is forecasting a 42% increase this year.
